Shamanic Dreaming IV: Archetypal Dreaming and Empowering Client Work

Cost: $275

In this shamanic dreaming workshop we will explore the magic of actively entering a major source of  healing and guiding dreams, the nonlocal “Mundus Archetypus,” where neuroscience, shamanism, and Jungian psychology meet. The archetypes are transpersonal forces and organizing principles of what C.G. Jung called the “collective unconscious.” They permeate the psyche, which Jung said extended as far as the cosmos itself, which is a good distance. The archetypes show up the shamanic spirit world, the cosmos, and the brain itself. Jung likened the brain to an Aeolian harp through the archetypal forces and numina made music by blowing through the  neurological harp. Grof likened the brain to a television set,  that does not originate the programs within itself, but receives and displays the nonlocal signals as images. Archetypes operate in our dreaming processes, show up in our art, music, spirituality, drama and literature. They lend their psycho-spiritual power in shamanic ayahuasca and sacred breathwork ceremonies, in the symbolic animals associated with the cardinal directions of medicine wheels, and in shamanic visions.
In this workshop will explore the nature of the transpersonal dimensions of the psyche, and explore their relationship to the spirit world, and how their numinous communications enter our dreaming field through the brain, whose neurons themselves are portals not only for electrochemical impulse-messages, but are themselves forms of consciousness which imaginatively present to us transpersonal INFO, through their amazing artistry of creating images as vessels of that INFO. We will each experience at least one major archetype, presented through mythological imagination, and explore the ways in which it can help empower or enrich us, our clients, and others whom we serve, through a shamanic active dreaming method. Will also experience a shamanic journey to Meet Mother Earth, and gain wisdom or guidance from Her directly. As usual Crows Nest events also offer an amazing context of community, sacred fire, story telling, purification lodge, sacred breathwork,  drumming, dancing, community feasting, and a community breakout session.
Bring your journals pens, eye cover, sleeping bags, art supplies (paints, pencils, colored pens, collage materials). Upon registration you will receive additional information to be best prepared for the weekend.Click here for more information on upcoming workshops
