JUNG, SHAMANISM, & IFS At the 21st Crows Nest WOUNDED HEALER SUMMER SCHOOL
A 5-Day Intensive with
C. Michael Smith, Ph.D. (Mikkal)
Aion Farvahar, and Laura Burkett Gutierrez, MA, Certified IFS practitioners
This year’s 5-Day intensive retreat will be devoted to self-soul recovery and healing, drawing on the wisdom and tools of Shamanic journeying, Jungian Psychology, and the Internal Family Systems Model [IFS]. Each of these approaches have a deep concern with the healing, recovery and care of the soul, which itself has spiritual concerns and needs. In this intensive we will show how all three models are convergent in their concerns with the inner life, and with what it takes to make us whole and fully alive. Each of these traditions has gone beyond the monolithic notion of the psyche and converge on the natural multiplicity of the psyche organized around a sacred or numinous core of aliveness. This Intensive Psychoshamanic retreat that will offer you plenty of space for deep self-exploration, and a number of powerful practical tools for self-soul recovery and self-healing. It will be a highly experiential event in a beautiful natural setting, and will involve shamanic journey methods aimed at self-healing, along with intensive journaling and dyadic and a supportive communitas.
The Intensive Curriculum:
Introduction to Jungian psychology Parts Work Model, and IFS and Psychoshamanic models: practices of self-soul recovery, healing, and integration.
Introduction to your own Inner Child Work. Focus on how the Divine Child born into a situation of vulnerability must move towards empowerment, and how normal conditioning and painful events can lead to loss of contact with the Divine Child, leading you to live from protective parts rather than from the heart.
Unblending 101: Training in disidentification from parts and feelings, by getting in your Center,
and activating your capacity of compassionate curiosity; using the language of presence. How to know exactly when you are in your Center, and when you are not.
Psychoshamanic Self-Soul Retrieval from Traumatic Memories.
Relocating the vulnerable part in your heart where you can care for, update, and integrate it.
Combining Parts Work and the Shamanic Journey Method for self-soul recovery and healing.
Unburdening and Ancestral Healing Ceremonial Acts: Using Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, or some natural place of your choosing.
Implications for Shamanic Plants-Spirit Ceremonies will be discussed.
