This workshop on Psychoshamanism will go more deeply into curanderismo as a rich framework for enriching and understanding psychoshamanic counseling and practice. Empacho means blockage. Its primary meaning is a blockage of the digestive tract. There is a special sacred ceremonial Empacho-<\/span>massage for removing blockage in the gut that will be demonstrated by Laura Burkett. We will explore how the gut is the source of so much physical illness. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We will then explore how we can have empachos or blockages in other dimensions, and how these can be related to each other. To do this we will learn a model of the multidimensional person in Five Empacho Dimensions, in five related and intermingling dimensions of the person: The spirit, the heart, the mind, the emotions, and the body. We will explore the nature of each dimension in the client, and how to assess other dimensions than the one the client is focusing on, and scan for a blockage in any or all dimensions. We will also explore ways to resolve a blockage (empacho).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What to bring<\/strong><\/span>. Bring sleeping bag and personal items, journal and pen, drum or rattle, eye cover, and something to share for the post-sweat feast on Friday night, and for the evening meal on Saturday night<\/p>\n
